File Excise Service Tax returns Online through ACES

Central Board of Excise & Customs (www.cbec.gov.in) made it mandatory to all the Central Excise & Service Tax Payers to file returns through electronic means. The monthly, quarterly & half-yearly returns should be submitted online from October 2011. For this purpose CBEC also opened a new website called Automation of Central Excise & Service tax (www.aces.gov.in) and informs it’s tax payers to register online immediately.
It is also made mandatory that the tax payers who are paying more than Rs. 50 Lakhs as Tax / Duty need to pay it through Internet Banking. For this purpose The EASIEST e-Payment portal is setup with NSDL. The Assessees should have Account in any Scheduled commercial bank which provides Internet Banking facility and apply for the same with the bank.
In case of any difficulty in filing returns online through ACES, the assessees can avail the service of ACES Certified Facilitation Centre’s (CFCs). CFCs are trained and authorized centers to provide New Registration, return filing service to all the Service Tax & Excise Duty payers.
